SEMPER FI, STEPHEN TODD! Stephen, son of David & Lois Todd, has been sworn into the Marine Corps and shipped off for Parris Island on March 7th. He graduated from Basic on June 3rd 2005!
CONGRATULATIONS TO THOMAS GORDON, SON OF MORRIS & SARA GORDON, FOR BEING SELECTED FOR THE HANGAR THEATER'S DRAMA LEAGUE SUMMER DIRECTOR'S PROJECT FROM MAY THROUGH AUGUST. Thomas will be heading up to New York City and then on to Ithaca, NY where he is one of four invited to be an assistant director. This is a fantastic opportunity and we are all very proud of the hard work Thomas has put into developing his talent.
Congratulations to HEATHER GARDNER for placing 2nd in Grade 3 Strathspey/Reel at Loch Norman on April 16th. Congratulations to AARON TODD for placing 1st in Grade 3 March and 1st in Strathspey/Reel. Aaron was named Piper of the Day. Aaron also was the Pipe Major on the Field for the Greater Richmond Pipes and Drums, and led them to 2nd Place. (We have been told he is the youngest in this position in the EUSPBA) Congratulation also to DAVID TODD for his 1st place in Novice Tenor Drum March Medley and 3rd Place in March. Heather's band, Charleston Police, placed 1st in Grade 5 and Grade 3 Band Competition.

Congratulations to Pipe Major Aaron Todd and the Greater Richmond Pipes & Drums for placing 1st in drumming and 1st Overall in Grade V Band Competition at the Colonial Highland Gathering in Fair Hill, MD. Pipe Major Aaron Todd (far right) & the Aaron, as Pipe Major on the Field in GRPD Competition Group @ Fair Hill. the first two competitions the GRPD have participated in this year has taken them to a 2nd place and 1st place. Out of 31 bands at Fair Hill this year, Aaron, at 13, was the only teenage Pipe Major, and is, from the information we have been given, the youngest in the EUSPBA.
Congratulations to Lois Todd who received the James Cash Penney Award for Community Service in May, 2005. She was honored for her service with the Greater Richmond Pipes & Drums as their quartermaster. The GRPD is a non- profit 501c organization which volunteers its services for many community events as well as educational services.

Congratulations to Daniel Todd, son of David & Lois Todd, on his graduation from Hermitage High School in Henrico Co., VA. Congratulations to David Todd who was given the Most Improved Tenor/Bass Drummer at the National Piping Centre's USA Summer School in Winchester, Virginia on July 1st (final day of the school.) Congratulations to Aaron Todd who received a Certificate of Distinction for his piping participation at the school. Congratulations to Jack Gardner, son of Ted & Karen Gardner, for earning not only a Certificate of Distinction, but also for sitting and earning both the Level 2 AND Level 3 Piping Certificates! Way to go Jack!

Sophia Gordon from London recently contacted us with the sad news of Stanley Watson's passing. Stanley was such a large part of the Scotland organization having edited the Gazette for many years. He will be greatly missed and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
