SEMPER FI, STEPHEN TODD! Stephen, son of David & Lois Todd, has been
sworn into the Marine Corps
and shipped off for Parris Island on March 7th. He
graduated from Basic on June 3rd 2005!

THOMAS GORDON, SON OF MORRIS & SARA
GORDON, FOR BEING SELECTED FOR THE HANGAR THEATER'S DRAMA
LEAGUE SUMMER DIRECTOR'S PROJECT
FROM MAY THROUGH AUGUST.
Thomas will be heading up to New York City and then on to  Ithaca, NY where he is
one of four invited to be an assistant director. This is a fantastic opportunity and
we are all very proud of the hard work Thomas has put into developing his talent.

Congratulations to
HEATHER GARDNER for placing 2nd in Grade 3
Strathspey/Reel at Loch Norman on April 16th. Congratulations to AARON
TODD for placing 1st in Grade 3 March and 1st in Strathspey/Reel. Aaron
was named Piper of the Day. Aaron also was the Pipe Major on the Field
for the Greater Richmond Pipes and Drums, and led them to 2nd Place.
(We have been told he is the youngest in this position in the EUSPBA)

DAVID TODD for his 1st place in Novice Tenor Drum
March Medley and 3rd Place in March.  
Heather's band, Charleston Police,
placed 1st in Grade 5 and Grade 3 Band Competition.

Heather Gardner for being accepted to the Charleston,
SC Police Academy.
Congratulations also to her for placing 1st in
Piobaireachd and 2nd in March
in Grade 3 Piping solo competition at the
Colonial Highland Games in Fair Hill, MD.

the first two competitions the GRPD have participated in this year has taken them
to a 2nd place and 1st place. Out of 31 bands at Fair Hill this year, Aaron, at 13,
was the only teenage Pipe Major, and is, from the information we have been given,
the youngest in the EUSPBA.

Congratulations to
Lois Todd who received the James Cash Penney Award
for Community Service in May,  2005.
She was honored for her service with the
Greater Richmond Pipes & Drums as their quartermaster. The GRPD is a non-
profit 501c organization which volunteers its services for many community events
as well as educational services.

Congratulations to
Jackson Todd, son of Joel Todd of Berlin, MD, for being
named as
Pipe Major of the Virginia Military Institute Pipes & Drums.

Congratulations to Daniel Todd, son of David & Lois Todd, on his graduation
from Hermitage High School
in Henrico Co., VA. Congratulations also to
Daniel who was sworn into the Marine Corps on June 10th.
Daniel is on the
delayed entry program and is expected to ship off to Parris Island in September.

Kristen Gordon on being ranked 30th on the East Coast
in High School Tennis Competition
! Kristen is Dr. Jim Gordon's granddaughter

Congratulations to David Todd who was given the Most Improved Tenor/Bass
Drummer at the National Piping Centre's USA Summer School in Winchester,
Virginia on July 1st (final day of the school.) Congratulations to
Aaron Todd who
received a Certificate of Distinction for his piping participation at the school.
Congratulations to
Jack Gardner, son of Ted & Karen Gardner, for earning not
only a Certificate of Distinction, but also for sitting and earning both the Level 2
AND Level 3 Piping Certificates! Way to go Jack!

Congratulations to Aaron Todd for placing 1st in  Grade 3 Strathspey/Reel and
2nd in Piobaireachd at Grandfather Mountain Highland Gathering.

Congratulations to
Stephen Todd for graduating 1st in his class in aviation
mechanics at Pensacola, FL with the Marine Corps. Stephen was the  
Distinguished Honor Graduate.

Congratulations to Aaron Todd for placing 1st in Strathspey/Reel with an AGL, 1st
in 2/4 March, and 2nd in Piobaireachd at th
Ligonier Highland Games in
Pennsylvania on Sept. 10th. Aaron was the Grade 3 Piper of the Day.

CONGRATULATIONS TO
HEATHER GARDNER FOR GRADUATING 1ST IN HER
CLASS AT THE CHARLESTON POLICE ACADEMY!
Heather is now a PFC in the
Charleston, SC Police Department. Congratulations to Heather for her 1st place
with an AGL in her heat in Grade 3 Piobaireachd at Stone Mountain on October
15th! We are so proud of you
.

CONGRATULATIONS TO AARON TODD for being upgraded to Grade 2 Solo
Competition in the EUSPBA.
Aaron ended the 2005 competition season in 4th
place overall standing for Grade 3. Congratulations also to the
Greater
Richmond Pipes & Drums (led by acting Pipe Major Aaron Todd
in 4 of their
7 competitions) for being upgraded to Grade 4 Band Competition!

Congratulations to David Todd on his upgrade from Novice Tenor Drum
Competition to Amateur Tenor Drum Competition.

CONGRATULATIONS TO DANIEL TODD ON GRADUATING FROM PARRIS
ISLAND ON DECEMBER 9TH! Ooh rah Daniel!

TED & KAREN GARDNER celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary by
renewing their vows in October 2005. Their son, Jack, piped at the
ceremony

Sophia Gordon from London recently contacted us with the sad news of
Stanley Watson's passing. Stanley was such a  large part of the Scotland
organization having edited the Gazette for many years.
He will be greatly
missed and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
